Bilaspur. In a disturbing incident from Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur district, the family of DSP Mekhlendra Pratap Singh is facing social boycott after his inter-caste marriage. The incident took place in a village under Kota police station limits, where locals allegedly harassed and mentally pressured the DSP’s family following his marriage to a woman from another community.

DSP Mekhlendra, currently posted in the Sarguja division, had recently married a woman from a different caste. This angered some people in his native village, who responded by boycotting his family and isolating them socially. Family members living in the village reported being subjected to social and psychological harassment.

After seeking help from the police, a formal complaint was lodged at the Kota police station. Considering the seriousness of the matter, Additional SP Archana Jha conducted an investigation. She confirmed that certain individuals attempted to threaten and boycott the DSP’s family.

Based on the investigation, police have registered a case against Virendra Kumar Singh, Shravan Singh, Dharmendra Pal, and others. Further inquiry is underway.
