Bilaspur. South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) has introduced a new initiative called “Mission Sambandh” aimed at ensuring quick and structured redressal of grievances from its officers, employees, and other stakeholders. As part of this initiative, Grievance Redressal Cells have been constituted at every sub-area, area, and headquarters level across the company.

The goal is to make the grievance-handling process transparent, time-bound, and accountable. Each redressal cell includes senior officials to ensure that no complaint is delayed or ignored.

Key Features of the Grievance Redressal System:

  1. Complaints will be accepted in a standard format, and an acknowledgment will be issued to the complainant.
  2. Each complaint will be forwarded to the relevant department based on its nature for timely resolution.
  3. The complainant will be informed of the status and outcome.
  4. Unresolved grievances at the sub-area level will be escalated to the area level.
  5. If still unresolved, the issue will be sent to the General Manager (PRB Cell)/GRC at the headquarters.
  6. Quarterly meetings will be conducted at area and headquarters levels to review and resolve complaints.
  7. Monthly reports from area-level meetings will be sent to the GM (PRB Cell)/GRC in Bilaspur.
  8. A comprehensive quarterly report will be presented to the Director (Personnel).
  9. Banners and notices will be displayed in key locations to inform all stakeholders about the process.
  10. Efforts are underway to digitize this system in the future through an online or mobile app platform.

At the headquarters in Bilaspur, the grievance redressal committee includes General Managers from various departments such as PRB Cell/GRC, Finance, Electrical/Mechanical, Land Revenue, Materials Management, Human Resources, Industrial Relations, and Welfare.

SECL Director (Personnel) Biranchi Das stated that this initiative is not just a formal mechanism but a reflection of the company’s commitment and accountability toward its employees and stakeholders.

On 26 July, meetings of these redressal cells were conducted in several SECL areas, during which active steps were taken toward resolving the complaints received.
